Victor Osimhen has begun the new Turkish league campaign in devastating form, registering another brace as Galatasaray swept aside Erzurumspor FK 4-0 away from home.
The Nigerian forward was directly involved in three of Galatasaray’s four goals, assisting Yunus Akgün before scoring once before the interval and again late in the second half.
Galatasaray needed only 11 minutes to take the lead through Roland Sallai, while Akgün doubled the advantage in the 20th minute after Osimhen helped create the opening during a swift transition.
Osimhen then punished an Erzurumspor defensive mistake in the 44th minute, beating goalkeeper Matija Orbanić to make it 3-0. With Galatasaray firmly in control, he completed his brace in the 79th minute from Gabriel Sara’s cross.
The result represents a strong response from Okan Buruk’s side after they surrendered a two-goal lead in their opening match against Çorum FK. This time, Galatasaray maintained control throughout the second half and secured their first three points of the campaign.
Most significantly, Osimhen now has four Süper Lig goals in two appearances, with consecutive braces to open his league campaign. beIN SPORTS described the start as a spectacular one for the Nigerian, while Türkiye Today reported that his latest goals moved him into third place among Galatasaray’s all-time foreign scorers.
